Cheryl Christoff

Professor, Accounting

Cheryl Christoff is a Chartered Professional Accountant, CPA, CA, with many years of experience in the fields of financial accounting, finance, payroll administration and education.

After graduating from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Cheryl worked for Coopers & Lybrand, presently PWC in Hamilton, Ontario. After obtaining her Chartered Accountant designation, she held various positions in private industry as a Financial Analyst, Budget/Forecast Analyst and Controller.
Cheryl has spent many years working as a consultant, and it was during her consulting years that she became interested in the Payroll function. She also spent a short time as a sole practitioner.

Due to a deep desire to become involved in the education and training of accounting students, Cheryl obtained a position as an Accounting Instructor at a private business college. Her passion for adult education, coupled with her practical business experience allowed her to bring real-world examples to the classroom to further enhance the learning process. Cheryl obtained her Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification, PCP, from the Canadian Payroll Association, and has taught the PCP certification courses at both the private and public college level.

Cheryl is thrilled to be at such a progressive Institution as Sheridan, and truly enjoys engaging with the next generation of accountants.
