Punam Parashar

Punam Parashar

Professor, School of Applied Computing

Punam Parashar is a professor of Applied Computing at Sheridan College. She has a MSc (math), a MPhil (math), a MEd, and a BEd, and she is currently pursuing her PhD in mathematics.

Punam has been an active member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) since 2012. She has more than 13 years of experience teaching mathematics courses to graduate and postgraduate students.

She started her career as a lecturer of mathematics at Punjab Technical University in India in 2001. Later, she joined Chitkara University in India as an assistant professor cum head of the mathematics department. She designed the course structures for several graduate and postgraduate programs during her time at this university, and has also implemented different teaching and learning techniques that have been appreciated by her colleagues and students.

Punam has published a book called Engineering Mathematics. She has had the rich experience of teaching multi-sectional courses in various academic systems (trimester, semester, and annual) and diverse students.

Punam joined Sheridan College in 2013. She mainly teaches Statistics, Applied Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, and Mathematics for Computing and Computational Methods.
