Olufemi Adegun

Olufemi Adegun

Professor, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology

Olufemi (Femi) Adegun earned his first degree in Engineering Physics with specialization in Materials Science from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife, Nigeria. He went on to receive two master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering (Production Engineering) and Executive MBA (Finance & Marketing) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

He worked as a production manager at SCOA Automobile Nigeria Ltd. (Societe Commerciale De la Quest of Africa), a subsidiary of Peugeot Automobile France, for six years, and as an engineering consultant for eight years, before migrating with his family to Canada in 2001.

He worked with Magna Formulated Coatings in Brampton, Ontario for one year, and with SKD Automotive Group in Mississauga, Ontario for four years.

In 2005, he enrolled at Sheridan College (Davis Campus) for a Project Management Certificate course. He received his PMP Certification in 2007.

He later joined Sheridan College’s School of Engineering and Manufacturing Sciences as a part-time professor teaching Project Management in Manufacturing in the postgraduate Manufacturing Management Program. He also taught courses such as Advanced Management Concepts and Industry Projects (at the postgraduate level), and Industrial Management, Manufacturing Processes, Cad-Cam Projects, Project and Report (at the undergraduate  level).

He completed a doctorate degree in Management in 2008 at the University of Maryland, USA, and completed his PhD at Newburgh College, Indiana, USA, in 2011, specializing in Sales and Marketing. He later received another Doctorate in Ministry (D Min) from the same institution.

In 2013, Femi was admitted for a post-doctoral PhD program in Operations/Strategic Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University, United Kingdom.

Femi is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO). He is currently serving as a mentor in the Engineers in Training (EIT) program of the PEO’s Mississauga branch. He is also an associate member of the American Society of Quality (ASQ).

He has published two books: Step Out and Achieve and The God of Strategy. He has also written several articles on leadership, management, strategy, change and marketing.

He is happily married to Pauline Adegun, an HR consultant/executive assistant with Therapure Bio Pharmaceuticals in Mississauga, and is blessed with two children, Seyi and Deji.

He loves teaching, research, writing, and pastoring.
