Dragan Acimovic

Dragan  Acimovic

Professor, School of Architectural Technology

Dragan (Dan) Acimovic is a Licensed Architectural Technologist with the Ontario Association of Architects, a Member of RAIC and has been a professor of architecture since 2011. He has a diploma in architectural technology, a Bachelor of Science in Architecture as well as a Masters Degree in Architecture from Lawrence Tech University. Dragan is also an Applied Sciences Technologist with OACETT.

With more than 23 years of professional experience, Dragan brings an intimate level of knowledge of the industry, and the craft of design. Throughout his career, Dragan has been an architectural technologist and project manager. Upon graduating at the top of his four-year co-op architectural technology program at Fanshawe College, he began his career working for G + G Architects in London, Ontario on a major hospital project. He continued practicing with Murphy and Murphy Architects where he developed further knowledge and began to manage projects from the initial design to construction completion.

When Dragan moved to the GTA, he worked for several firms including OCA Architects, Moriyama and Teshima Architects, Graziani and Corazza Architects and Quadrangle Architects. He worked on a large variety of project types: Community centers, arenas, libraries, large-scale residential, hotel, school and high, mid and low rise condominium projects. His experience at various stages of project development (Master planning, site analysis, community meetings, design, presentation, working drawings, specifications, building and fire code review, construction administration and project close out procedures) gives him a broad scope on the industry.

Dragan's direct involvement with the architectural firm 'da design inc', allows him to bring the latest professional methodologies into the class room to ensure the students are well prepared for a successful career in architecture.
