Bill Costigane

Bill Costigane

Professor, School of Applied Chemical and Environmental Sciences

Bill is a professional engineer and a graduate of the University of Waterloo in chemical engineering. He also holds a MEd degree in educational administration and curriculum design. Over his many years at Sheridan, he has held the positions of teaching master, professor, academic adviser, program coordinator, associate dean, and dean.

Bill has been integral in designing and launching several programs at Sheridan, including the three-year Chemical Engineering Technology Co-op program, the three-year Chemical Engineering Technology-Environmental Co-op program, the two-year Environmental Science program and the one-year Environmental Control Co-op post-graduate program. In collaboration with the Region of Peel and Sheridan Corporate, Bill also designed and implemented the Water Distribution Operator Program.

Bill’s additional professional activities, past and present, include acting as a member for the National Advisory Committee for the Canadian Chemical Producers Association, the City of Brampton Environmental Advisory Committee, and the City of Mississauga Board of Trade Environmental Committee.

As a curriculum consultant, he’s advised for Educansult Inc. in Toronto, the Association of Canadian Community Colleges and the Canadian International Development Agency. His research and consulting activities have taken him to the Waterloo Research Institute, Kuwait, India and the United Arab Emirates.

Bill is also part of the Health & Safety Committee and the Management/Union Dispute Resolution Committee at Sheridan College.
