Professor, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology

Dr. Amir H. Alfalahi, P.Eng.earned his Bachelor of Science and Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology, Baghdad. Amir then pursued his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tenaga National, Malaysia.

Amir’s 10+ years of industrial experience in mechanical design and manufacturing engineering gave him an expertise in design, sizing, rout sheet preparation and manufacturing operations. His experience in the academic realm, teaching mechanical engineering curriculum worldwide (Iraq, Libya, Malaysia and Canada), have given him a vast skill set in post secondary education.

Amir is no stranger to publications having published a textbook in Engineering Drawing which is widely used in many Middle East universities and colleges. He is currently writing his second book “SolidWorks a Project Base Approach” and has authored more than 43 technical papers in reputable journals and international conferences. Amir’s expertise is shown in the field of Geometric Modelling using CAD systems (i.e. SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, and Inventor), CAD/CAM using Mastercam, CFD using Fluent and SolidWorks Flow Simulation, FEA using SolidWorks Simulation and Inventor, and Heat Transfer and Heat Exchangers Design.

Amir is the present coordinator of the Tetra Society at Sheridan College, and teaches subjects in the areas of Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and additive manufacturing (3D printing).
