As a full time member of the Practical Nursing faculty since 2007, Cindy has enjoyed working with students to help them learn and understand the challenges and rewarding aspects of a career in Nursing. Her 20 year career as a Registered Nurse has provided her experiences in several different roles including; Nurse Educator, Director of Staff Development, Perinatal/Labour and Delivery Nurse, Nursing Instructor and Correctional Nurse to name a few. Cindy’s well rounded background in the field of nursing provides relevant examples and experiences to draw from during her classes and labs. Cindy believes it is important to continue to actively practice nursing in order to keep up to date with current practices and changes within the health care industry. Her current position as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner/Domestic Violence Nurse enriches her teaching through raising awareness of the complexity of care when dealing with survivors of assault and/or abuse. Cindy’s passion is for the profession of nursing and she has had the privilege of instilling this passion and dedication to future nurses.
