Anna Baas-Anderson is a Professor in the Early Childhood Education programs at Sheridan College.  Her education includes an ECE diploma at Algonquin College, a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education from Ryerson University and graduate studies in Human Development and Applied Psychology from OISE. Anna’s research interests are in human development with a particular interest in attachment & loss and affect regulation. She continues to explore attachment with primary caregivers affects a child’s emotional regulation and long term effects on the individual. Her teaching assignments at Sheridan are centred on topics in human development and the uniqueness of the child. She is also the lead in Evidence Based Practices in the bridging program for the early childhood leadership degree program.

She is an elected member of the College of Early Childhood Educators and a member of the OACCPP. Anna was a designer of the Early Childhood Leadership degree at Sheridan College, and continues to develop courses that are current and relevant to early learning and care. She has worked in early childhood settings across Canada. Her experience ranges from working directly with children to the supervision of 14 child care centres in the city of York. She is a volunteer bereavement counselor for young children, she has taught aboriginal people in Saskatchewan and was a consultant for the Hanen Language Program. Anna is an active member and advocate of the early childhood education community with the goal to promote healthy development in families and children.
