Eva-Maria Buccioni


Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences


Dr. Buccioni specializes in ancient and contemporary social, political and moral philosophy and ethics. Her other philosophical interest include environmental philosophy, existentialism and critical thinking. Since coming to Sheridan in 2007 she has taught in all these areas of philosophy. More recently she has become fascinated by the interconnectedness of creative and critical thinking.

Professor Buccioni has taught previously a large variety of courses at Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Guelph. During her years at university she also served on a number of committees and as undergraduate advisor. She has presented numerous papers and commentaries in ancient philosophy, hermeneutics, and other areas of philosophy at various conferences. Dr. Buccioni also publishes articles and reviews in national and international journals. Her doctoral studies and some subsequent research have been generously funded by SHRCC.
