Nancy Potter is a contract professor at Sheridan College with 15 years of experience teaching mathematics for the trades at the Skills Training Centre. She enjoys helping students connect their mathematics studies in the classroom with their practical work in the shop. Nancy has also been involved in developing course outlines and curriculum to meet the requirements of the trades.
Nancy joined Sheridan in 1987, and has worked in the faculties of Applied Science and Technology, General Arts and Science, and in the Academic Upgrading Department.
Prior to arriving at Sheridan, Nancy taught mathematics at Mohawk College, and gained industry experience as a Production Engineer for Hudson’s Bay Oil and Gas and Dome Petroleum.
Nancy received her BSc in Chemical Engineering, with a specialty in mathematics, from Queen’s University.
