Prior to joining Sheridan in 1995, Peter Larsen was a consultant in the risk management field. As a consultant Peter supported client companies and organizations through the development and delivery of HIRA (hazard identification and risk assessment) based risk management programs. Peter has extensive experience as a professor in risk management and was the program leader and Coordinator in developing the Risk Analyst two year diploma program, the Risk Management Post-Graduate program and the Emergency Management Post-Graduate program at Sheridan.
Through his current and past experiences, combined with his leadership and interpersonal skills, Peter is demonstrably successful at creating positive environments and achieving positive business outcomes. Peter is strong team player, who thrives on challenges in a fast-paced environment, and is an effective and strong communicator on the benefits of applied risk management solutions for business, not-for-profit organizations and government agencies.
Currently Peter is a professor in the School of Public Safety. He teaches in the Police Foundation, Investigation: Public and Private program and in the Emergency Management program. Peter is an avid biker and runner and for recreation enjoys practicing various risk management techniques in the financial sector by trading high beta securities on a short-term basis using technical analysis.
