Board Application

Sheridan is seeking to recruit passionate, visionary, and experienced candidates to its highest volunteer body — the Board of Governors. We are actively recruiting volunteers for the 2023–2024 Board term.

Our Board is dedicated, inquisitive, and collaborative.  Its members are committed to stewarding Sheridan’s future by ensuring its long-term growth and sustainability. The Board values the diversity inherent in Sheridan’s home communities and is interested in understanding the demographics, perspectives and needs of its stakeholders.

To complement the existing slate of Governors, Sheridan is particularly interested in recruiting individuals with demonstrated skills or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • government relations
  • human resources
  • accounting (preference for candidates with a CPA)

We’re also interested in hearing from individuals who have senior-level work experience in postsecondary education, industries that align with our academic programming such as manufacturing, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, and building relationships and community partnerships.

The Board term runs between September and June with approximately six meetings per term. Subcommittees of the Board meet between three and five per term. Meetings are two hours in duration and are typically held at the Trafalgar campus in Oakville. Board members are encouraged to attend Sheridan events throughout the year.

Sheridan strives to create an equitable and inclusive teaching, learning and working environment. All qualified individuals who reflect the rich diversity of Canadian society, including equity-seeking group members are encouraged to apply.
