ART & ART HISTORY GRADS CELEBRATE PROGRAM's 40th ANNIVERSARY

Art & Art History alumni are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their program during the 2011/12 academic year with a new student award. Andrew WrightAndrew Wright, who graduated in 1994, has established an awards fund at Sheridan to offer tuition support for current and future students of the joint Sheridan/University of Toronto program.

Show your support for future Canadian artists and donate by visiting academicawards.sheridaninstitute.ca or contacting Lisa Mulholland at 905-845-9430, ext. 4299, lisa.mulholland@sheridaninstitute.ca. All donations are eligible for a charitable tax receipt. Our goal is to raise $15,000 in order to have these funds matched 1:1 by the Provincial Government's Ontario Trust for Student Support Matching Grant program.

To help alumni stay connected, Anndrew has created a Facebook page to provide news about the program, job postings, exhibitions and as a resource for recent and future alumni. Be sure to check out the page at Art & Art History Sheridan/UTM Alumni.

An award-winning artist who has exhibited internationally, Andrew is the Assistant Professor in the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Ottawa.

  • Acknowledgment in Convocation Program, distributed to 10,000 guests and posted on the Sheridan website at: www.sheridaninstitute.ca

In addition, opportunities available to donors based on the level of their gift include:

  • Invitation to present the award(s) at the Academic Awards Ceremony
  • Invitation to select Sheridan events
  • Listing in the Annual Report
  • Invitation to annual Dean’s event
  • Listing on Sheridan’s permanent Donor Wall.

As an award donor, you can choose both the name of the award and the selection criteria for student eligibility. Donors of academic awards are invited to the end-of-year Awards Ceremony to meet the recipient of their award(s) and to see first hand the positive impact their donation makes. The Academic Awards Ceremony is a night that brings together our faculty and support staff, award donors, students, family and friends in one place where we celebrate excellence, improvement, dedication and cooperation. This is the time we honour the best of the best from our school and thank our generous supporters who make this ceremony possible.

We are continually striving to strengthen our academic awards programs.  Your support will go a long way in helping to ensure that students have the financial means to complete their education while continuing to reward their hard work and determination.
