Motorcycle Experienced Rider: M2 to M License Training Course

About the Motorcycle M2 to M License Course

Upgrade to a full motorcycle M license through this course designed for the more skilled rider. Riders must have held a M2 license for a minimum of 22 months ( or 18 months if successfully completed a recognized motorcycle training program).

Begin with an in-depth classroom theory session (Thursday 6:30 to 9:30pm) followed by a full day (Saturday 8am to 5pm) of real life traffic skills and on road practice. Sunday involves individual testing for approximately one hour.

What to Bring:

Please be aware that if the motorcycle you plan to use for your M2 exit  course does not have the original exhaust system (i.e. has been fitted with an aftermarket system) and it is deemed by M2 Exit instructors to be unacceptably loud, you will not be permitted to use it on the course.

If you are unsure whether your bike creates unacceptable levels of noise, our M2 Exit instructors will assess it for you. Please ride your bike to the Trafalgar Campus at 10:00am any Saturday that the M2 to M course  is running prior to your start date.

Curriculum

Theory portion: 3 hours in the classroom on Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Room number will be posted in the college main entrance.
Saturday's session consists of 8 hours of riding, beginning with exercises on designated college parking lots and connecting roadways, followed by riding in a group setting while wearing radio communication on public roadways through residential, business and highway settings. You will be riding in a group while being coached by an instructor through radio communication. Sunday involves only a one hour, pre-scheduled testing time per student wherein the rider is provided with radio directions by instructors following in a vehicle.

For safety reasons, should the rider's level of skill demonstrated on Saturday morning evidence a lack of safety for the rider, for fellow riders or in potential traffic situations on the roadways or highways, the rider will not be permitted to continue the course. Motorcycles must be mechanically fit and must not produce excessive exhaust noise. Instructors will be available prior to your scheduled course to assess noise levels if you have a concern. Further details in this regard will be provided to M2 Exit course registrants in advance. If a student's motorcycle should not meet basic safety standards, the student will be withdrawn from the program. If motorcycle breakdown occurs, the student will not be permitted to continue with the course. If students are withdrawn from the course under these circumstances, they will not be entitled to a refund of fees.
